Founded in June 1907, a time of economic depression, the cooperative dedicated itself from its very beginnings to promoting the cultivation of top-quality wines and ensuring adequate revenue for its members. It is due to the farsightedness of the authors of the early oenological guidelines that the production facilities have, in essence, preserved their original functionality. Side by side with the traditional wooden casks dating back to the days of the founding fathers, state-of-the-art wine-making techniques ensure outstanding quality and testify to that harmonious and functional symbiosis of tradition and modern technology which is the hallmark of San Michele-Appiano.
